'One of the most frequently asked questions by teachers considering leaving teaching is “What other jobs can I do?”  As a teacher you have a large number of transferable skills and there are many other jobs that pay as well or better than teaching that you have the skills and qualifications for.

Before jumping in and selecting an alternative career, it is useful to reflect and consider your strengths, skills and passions are as well as your transferable skills.

Reflect on what you REALLY want and what you have to offer.  Think about the abilities and qualities you have - and how else you might use them - you have valuable skills to take you into the next phase of your life.

Another thing to think about is whether you want to work for an employer or for yourself.
